Hi,
My name is Rick.
I have been collecting stamps for over 65 years
I collect worldwide with emphasis on Greece, Great Britain, British Commonwealth, and US.
I've seen some fantastic information on the Greek Large Hermes head stamps on this forum.
The large Greek Hermes heads are extremely challenging and I appreciate any help in identification.
I just purchase the new book, "Large Hermes Heads, Printings and Shades"
It's a beautiful reference book and I highly recommend it.
Looking forward to sharing information and getting help here.

Rick,

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ

Hi! I'm Rebecca. I've been collecting pretty casually for about 5-6 years. (I blame my m-i-l; we found her stamp album when we cleaned out her house.) I started with U.S., but one day bought a huge jumbled batch of all sorts of stuff—the best kind—and there were a lot of international stamps. My main reason for joining is help with perfins. I have hundreds of U.S. patterns identified, but the GB and German ones are confounding me. I don't have the money for buying reference volumes.
