I am helping my wife build a collection of First Day Covers specially for the 1937 S.P.A. Convention 10 Cent Souvenir Sheet #Scott 797. Since the Asheville Club is our local club, her original objective was to collect one of each of the cachets (Planty's 1977 ver. lists around 41 different cachets) and she currently has almost all of these plus a few more that are not listed in Planty's.

But Planty's also notes that there three different official type FDC cancels; Asheville SPA Convention Station machine cancel, a Washington DC cancel, and a SPA Convention Station town dial style cancel. Here are example of the Asheville SPA Convention Station machine cancel and the Washington DC cancel.

But I noticed that there appears to be two different types of the hand stamp SPA Convention Station town dial style cancel, one with short bars and one with long bars? Is my assumption correct that these are two different cancellers?

Thank you in advance for any feedback.
Don

USPOD announcement flier, although stained by rubber cement and likely trimmed down quite a bit since it lacks the normal printing quantity data at the bottom:

Here is a singed FDC that she has not yet added to her album; it is signed by the PM shown in the Asheville Citizens Times newspaper article on her third page above.

51studebaker, here is an item that goes hand & glove with your wife's collection.

I picked this up in 2017 from ebay. Had never seen a Peckmore print done in the color of Scott 797. This is not part of the set Lindquist did of the Parks series. The die area measures 88x112mm and the overall size is 256x191mm. It's perhaps something special that Peckmore did that hasn't had much exposure. Note at the bottom right it's signed by Peckmore in pencil.
