That is the seller that has a lot of fantasy.
Edit: The cancellation and picture hide a lot. In the link I provided that shows the inverted and ordinary frames you can see the lower right corners. These are mirrored to the upper left corners (because the frame is inverted, not mirrored).
In the seller's picture, the lower right corner is not obscured by a cancellation. This has "the two largest branches come together relatively far down the stem." If you mirror this, the lower right corner will have "the two largest branches come together relatively far down up the stem."
And this, exactly, is the case in the stamp posted by this seller. |

Quote: Must get a better catalogue. Would you recommend a scott? Not if you want recent catalogue values. Your profile states you are in the UK. The UK market uses Stanley Gibbons. If you want to buy stamps, you may be looking mostly at British sellers and, maybe, European sellers. The former will mostly use Stanley Gibbons. The latter Michel (that is in German). Personally, I have not been impressed with Scott listings mentioned here for GB, Commonwealth, and European and colonies stamps. Newer catalogues may be very expensive. Even if you find a cheap Scott just to identify stamps, you are likely to find one offered cheaply by a US seller and then pay a lot of postage. |

Quote: Sorry I can't add in previous posts either. If you look at your post, you will see symbols above a line just above your post. The first sybol is a sheet of paper with a person in front of it. The last is an arrow in a cirle. In the middle is a sheet of paper with lines on it and a pencil (or pen) in front of it. Click on the symbol and it will open the post in a dialogue box. You can edit the post up to a day after you posted it. |

Thoughts: Stop buying stamps until you have reliable access to a catalog (SG, Michel, Yvert) printed in the 21st century. Anything is better than what you are using. While ebay is home to the sale of costly coins, comic books, and vehicles, that's not generally the case for stamps in no small part because philately isn't very compatible with the commoditization offered by third-party graders like NGC, PCSG, etc. So, while there are many bargains to be had when you find the right seller(s), 99.99% of anything philatelic labeled rare, unique, special, etc will be total rubbish. Those genuinely rare items are still sold via conventional auction house or private sale. |

Well You schould Buy an AFA Katalog of Danish Stamp if you want to collect them. Your Stamp is a Genuine with a Normal Frame and Not the Invertede frame as all points out to you. The RET Ramme will have a corner figure that looks like a 5 and the Omv. Ramme the corner figure will look like a F. Se picture. Your frame is similar to the left picture, hope this will help you. |

The part that billsey encircles may be obscured by a cancellation. Note that if this is the case, you can turn the stamp upside down and repeat the trick. Only now, the inverted and normal frames will be switched. That is because it is an inverted frame. |

Quote: Thankyou yes but all my money is going on he stamps....I will have to invest though. So does anyone know how I tell the difference between the issues? As mentioned, the difference is in the watermark, if you're used to working with the bicolored you can tell from the front. this is 1904 issue. also, pay attention to dates in cancels, this one I can't read. advice... don't buy things you don't know anything about, you're bound to get scammed at some point. in that, there's a lot of learning so if you're fine with that and have enough money to take a hit... just knock yourself out. but you're better of buying a bulk lot with some catalogues and learn from that. also if you find an area/country you like.. buy a catalogue from that country and use a dictionary if you can't get it in english... the information on different countries are often full of misinformation in other countries catalogues. |
