It remains a riddle how a British cancel used in 1876 or one referred to in 1869 are a better explanation on a domestic Brazilian stamp than a Brazilian cancel used from 1866.

It really wouldn't make sense...

But since Great Britain has used mute cancellations since the 1840s, it would be more feasible the postmark to be English, even if it is not exactly the one that appears listed in the books...

If it is Brazilian, then it is an even greater rarity, because there is no record of a postmark like this in Brazilian catalogs, even less of its use on Bullseyes, the stamp in question…
