I have two lighthouse albums of Sweden and several vario pages. Some stamps have decent value.
I bought some material from Kelleher.
But interested on opinions on where/how to sell.

You might want to provide a little more detail on what is in those albums. Two complete 21st-century albums filled with unmounted mint are different stuff from two sparsely filled albums pre 1970 with cancelled stamps. |

I almost always find myself agreeing with NSK. What you have may not be worth doing anything more than listing on ebay, or it may be require a call or two with Siegel, for example. We need details to be able to respond with anything constructive. |

JROCKNE ---- To answer your question , go back and sell it as a consignment at Kelleher .
Lets look at what you may have , if you have the regular material that is listed in the Scott catalog ,that is used for 1870's to 1924 ,then mint after 1924 in the normal fine condition your looking at less than 10% of catalog from a buyer that at best is 8% of catalog for you . Forget about covers and stamps after 1950 because Kelleher is nice enough to dump that stuff for me into their junk lots . Yes I have had a lot of it .
There is some highly price stuff but Kelleher handles very little of it ,it is sold in Europe .
Can you explain what you have . |

As an alternative, there are a number of good auction houses in Scandinavia. Many of these companies appear routinely on stamp auction network. |

I have used, nearly complete. And a decent collection of mint. I think I was frustrated yesterday because I have a lot of stamps in vario pages. I'm realizing they are not really worth anything.
What I'll do is spend some time with my light house albums. I have two. I might combine them. Have a page of mint followed by the page of used. I can add supplement pages for odds and ends.

Yes, in some cases the Vario pages are worth more than the stamps. But I still like to use them for some things, like city cancels, shades, or other varieties, because it is so much easier to move things around than a normal album. Also my ultra-modern used, self adhesives on piece. I don't have enough completeness to want to buy album supplements, and on-piece doesn't do well in an album anyway, so I use Vario or Hagner pages for those also.
I have mixed feelings over alternating pages mint and used. I've seen collections like that and it feels schizophrenic. When leafing through a mint album, I like how clean and fresh every page is. When interspersed with used stamps on every other page, it kills the mood.
I'm not saying I don't like used stamps, I actually prefer used, especially with nice clean readable cancels. Mint and used mixed on the same page is normal, with the older or more expensive stamps used and the rest mint. It is just alternating mint and used every other page is what I would find odd. It is your collection not mine so do what makes you happiest. If you are setting these up for resale, I say don't waste your time combining the two albums. You may reduce the number of potential buyers; some may want only the mint collection, others may want only the used. Also, especially with Lighthouse, unless both albums were purchased at the same time, there is a chance that the stamps on the pages are not identical in both albums. Sometimes stamps got added or sets got rearranged in later printings so alternating pages would become difficult. Just my 2 kr. fwiw. |

Depends on the overall value, to some extent. Auction houses have their own minimum consignment value. I don't know Kelleher's - $5000? $2000? 10,000? And other auction houses have THEIR own minimums, perhaps different. So, even though you purchased items from Kelleher - I bet you bought some items, but NOT an entire consignment - your collection may not now qualify for consignment when selling. Or... maybe it might - we haven't seen your collection. Another alternative would be to sell to someone who specializes in Sweden or Scandinavia, and who is well-funded. There are specialized dealers that can only offer a small amount because they can't afford to pay more - it is up to YOU to know if an offer is reasonable or not. If you have worked with a Scandinavian or Swedish dealer, you may wish to approach them. Another outlet is ebay, if you want to put in the effort. Whatever you decide, good luck with what you are doing! |

Everyone's approach to laying out albums is different. A few years ago, I experimented with alternating mint and used Davo pages - coincidentally, for my Scandinavian stamps. I didn't much like the effect, although this is the approach I use for mint and used in my homemade, quadrille pages. I sometimes place used copies on the back of the previous page, so that used and mint versions can be seen at once. I rather like the effect, although you'll need thicker leaves to accommodate this. |

Collections of Sweden always have a hard time approaching higher value just by their nature. Unless there is a focus on the earliest issues in top condition it is very difficult to have real value. |

I've really started to notice that with Swedish collections. I wonder why. I find the stamps particularly beautiful. Maybe quantity? |

MOOT ---- The problem with trying to sell your collection on ebay . Is a few key stamps and sets are sold ,then your stuck with a collection which lost its "wow power " , now your selling common material or better said ,your trying to get something for what everybody else is selling . At that point the auction houses and specialized dealers don't want it . |
