I've never seen a stamp placed on another stamp. How would this stamp be valued? Thanks for all feedback.

I suppose that's one way to pay a 1sh3d revenue fee. Perhaps space was tight on the document? Neat.

Since they do not appear to be attached to the document, I doubt there will be any extra value. If the 1/- has been damaged, it might even detract from its value. Soaking even if there is no damage to the 1/- will leave a gap in the cancel of that stamp, lowering its value.

Most likely, it will depend on how eager a revenue collector would be in this novelty. If not, it may be less than that of the two separate stamps.

Agreed, on an envelope would look much better. There is also a perfin on both that looks like a capital R.

I'd keep them together, for whatever interest they hold. In the current Barefoot, the top stamp might be Bft #51, and if so, it catalogues at .20. The bottom stamp is most likely to be Bft #20, if it has a sideways watermark, and it catalogues .50. If there is no watermark, it catalogues at 5.00.

If I was flipping through a stack of dealer cards and saw this combo for a dollar, I'd buy it. If it was five dollars, I'd keep flipping.

My 2d.

Thanks for the recent posts it's worth keeping just for the uniqueness.
Can someone point me in the right direction of identifying what company the perfin R stands for? Is there a catalogue of Australian perfins, as I've seen some listings for the US & Canadian stamps.
