Newbie. inherited. It says: MDCCCLXIII on the bottom of the page. It looks to have very old stamps from all over the world. It's beautiful but the paper is very brittle and some pages are loose. I saw an old thread that there may only be a few around. I am trying to establish which relative it was handed down from. I have a pretty good idea now. 85% cancelled stamps but there are definitely several 'not used' ones.

Would someone be able to confirm that this is in fact a copy of the first album made by D. Appleton?

Very interesting. Since the pages are brittle, you may want to just try some photos/pictures rather than scans. If a page is loose, you may be able to scan that one. Show us some of the older / better condition stamps and we'll let you know what the community thinks.
