For anyone who has a 2024 Scott U.S. Specialized, could you let me know what the current Earliest Documented Use date is for Scott 484. Thanks!

Earliest documented use: April 30, 1918

From the 2024 Scott US Specialized (just checked out from the local library.)

Hope this helps you,

Linus

Ray, there is a couple of "Candidates" out there for it. I just can't tell for sure they are type-II. However, I'm waiting on a cover coming from Singapore (bought in November--slow getting here) that should cert. for one. Its a higher denomination too. Also have a couple coming state side that have a chance to move the date. I sent one to the PF that could be one. They cert'ed it as not, but they didn't lift the stamp to check the watermark! I lifted it when It came back and I think they were wrong. Will be sending it again or to the APS. Good to hear from you!

You have to give them permission to do that, otherwise it never happens.

An on-line source for EDU's is a file maintained by Richard Frajola on his Philamercury website.

The file may be found here:
https://www.rfrajola.com/mercury/SiskinBerkun.pdf

The entry there for Scott #484 follows.

Mike, I am aware, of and keep up with Frajola's site. All my current EDUs are listed there. Unfortunately, the Berkin-Siskin data base he maintains is not in sic with the Scott catalogue. I get a new Specialized about every 3-4 years and when I get it, I compare the two and have to pencil in the Scott discrepancies onto a printed copy of the Berkin-Siskin. When I find a candidate for an EDU, if I can get someone to look up the current Scott Cat. date, if there has been a change, it can save me from sending for a cert. unnecessarily. That's only regarding the W/F series, which I mostly focus on. It would be nice if there were just a single data base, but there isn't. Thank you for pointing it out. Its a very good tool to use.

Edited to add: Anyone who has any EDUs that are in disagreement with the Berkun-Siskin data, if you send Richard Frajola a copy of the cover and cert. he will up-date the site.
