Probably toned white and with some foxing and evidence of a removed adhesive. Minimum letter rate to Australia was 5c.per 15 grams in that time period. Lacking a postmark in the scan shown. This suggests (but doesn't prove) that it might have been carried outside the mails or perhaps never mailed.

And thank you jobi01. Forgot to mention envelope is sealed and never opened with no markings on back, so you are probably correct.

Of course *sealed now* does not mean anything about its flap condition 130+ years ago.
