I saw this offering yesterday on ebay (item number:225949466833).

Something does not seem right about the perforations... or am I wrong?

Does look fake to me. The green field colour is just too solid. That's not how it should be. The back looks too perfectly pale too?

Yeah, all the fine lines are blended together and the printing looks very dot-matrixey.

You could blame the dots on the scanner or JPEG compression but then the hairs on the perf tips and the background would have the same patterns of tiny dots that the stamp has. Bummer, it is otherwise fresh and nicely centered.

That ebay specimen looks terrible. And while I understand starting an auction at a low price, $/£ 0.01 isn't even respectable (starting prices that are too low are a red flag for me).

Impression is wrong, color is wrong, perfs are wrong... it's just wrong.

Genuine example from Siegel:

The seller sells many reproductions such as this - mentioned as such in the details of the ebay listing, but not in the title. Whether buyers realize they are all reproductions is a good question.

Selling a ton of modern fakes in violation of ebay's rules requiring them to be indelibly marked as such.

It is marked as a reproduction, but one has to go about 3/4 of the way down the page to see it.

Didn't ebay water down the "indelibly marked" policy? I've quoted their past policies, in the past, taken from the wayback machine, but I thought that requirement is no longer in their materials?

These are his cheaper offerings. He has other repros starting at $110. Interesting store with many items.
