I was looking through my covers and noticed this cover was addressed from the governor of Guam. Nice solo usage as well!
During World War II, Pownall commanded the fast aircraft carrier Task Group 50.1 with the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown as his flagship.
In September 1945, Pownall served as Commander Naval Forces Marianas with additional duty as military Governor of Guam from 30 May 1946.
Powmall approved the flag of Guam and the seal of Guam
