Hello Everyone,
While checking watermarks today, I found this sideways watermark and upon researching I've been left with no useful data. Would there be a database that I could access that gives information about this stamp and it's watermark and possibly Australian watermarks in general? Thanks!!!

Yes, it is called a catalogue. The local one, if I remember correctly, is the 'ASC.' Another that tends to go a little deeper into details for Australia is Stanley Gibbons.

It appears the sideways watermark is the normal one for this stamp.

The stamp you have was printed on August 14, 1950. The paper has a multiple Crown and C of A watermark sideways, it is the standard watermark for this issue. 14,640,000 of the thick (regular) stamps were printed. Your stamp is thin paper (0.075mm) opposed to 0.11mm for the regular paper, it is scarce and is valued in used condition at around $50.The Brusden White (ACSC) catalogue number is 259Aa. There are two shades to this stamp, Indigo and Deep Slate, you have the Indigo shade.

Left stamp is thick paper. Right stamp is thin paper.
