Below are two stamp images..
I believe that the 3p stamp is a variety that had the brown color missing. I have compared the 2 1/2c to the 3p and do notice a distinct difference in the branch/stem color.
can anyone concur or not?

Afraid not, although searching for these things is fun! On the 3d (please note that despite Scott's listings, a penny was a "d" not a "p"!) the brown has shifted slightly to the right and appears as a dark area on the blue background

RE: scott, I know they think a pence and penny are the same thing.
Oh well too bad about the stamp. maybe the shift in color explains why the flower in the 2 1/5 has shading all around it but the 3d one only has shading on the right.
