Just one word..breathtaking.

The brace of Hermes have posthorns, on their belts,
and lanterns which I would guess symbolises rail.

The Expo celebrated the alpine tunnel, hence the tunnel entrance
and the winged wheels of transportation.

The Universal Exposition of Milan 1906, known as the Great Expo of Work, born with the aim to make a great international exhibition regarding trasportation to inaugurate the recent raiway Paris- Milan, in occasion of the completed Alpine Tunnel of Sempione.

What are the initials in the two wreaths? I see ARS and LRR.

I believe it says ARS and LABOR, i.e. Art and Work.
