I mean I'd be happy with a few dollars each. Are they even worth that though? I think the oldest ones are from the 1860's.

You do realize that you'd have to have 50 posts to sell on this forum?
Having said that, look on ebay and see what they sold for/

These are common R6c and R15c, cataloguing 50 cents or less each. I sell them in bulk as packet material, so "a few dollars each" is not likely to happen.

I'm not trying to sell them here so that's great. I don't care if I have 50 posts. I was genuinely trying to figure out if any of these stamps I just got were worth even trying to sell or if I should just trash them all since spending 30 days trying to figure all of this out obviously doesn't seem like it's worth my time. I did try looking them up but without a perf gauge or whatever I'm not really sure what's what. Had you said that they were actually worth a couple dollars sure I'd start looking them up on ebay but with as many that are here that don't seem to be worth the paper they're printed on, that's what I needed to know and I appreciate the information.

They're neat and interesting pieces of Civil War-era history. People may collect them for the cancel dates, or to look for plate varieties and printing anomalies. But since there were millions and millions printed, they're just not scarce, and thus don't have high catalogue values, that's all.

Thank you for the info. I do appreciate it. I just couldn't see sitting here trying to sift through and keep all of this if it's just not worth doing and so far from what little I've looked up to match to what you've all shared has helped. But I just don't see that all of these are going to be worth much more of my time if there isn't anything in them worth anything more then a couple of cents. I might try to sell the covers but not on here so please no worries I don't need another lecture about needing 50 posts in order to do so since that's not what I'm trying to do. I appreciate all of your help on all of it so far. I was honestly about ready to trash most of it. If anyone would be so kind as to let me know on the next couple that I post if they're worth selling for $20 or if that's too low since I've had an offer on some of them, would be awesome. I've already invested a lot of time trying to sort through and figure out all of this. Like I said if they aren't worth anything then they aren't and that's fine. But if any of its worth a few dollars (doesn't have to be lottery amount) that would at this point help.
