If anyone would be so kind as to let me know if $20 is a fair offer for these I'd really appreciate it since someone has offered to pick them up in the morning for that much. I've spent the last few weeks sifting through the stamps and trying to look them up and without a way to measure them and all of that it's hard to know what they're worth without doing hours and hours more research on how to tell the difference between two stamps that look exactly the same to an untrained eye. So it's not that I haven't tried looking them up on ebay. It's just that I still haven't invested enough time and money into something I have no interest in keeping or doing to be able to tell if there's anything even worth any more of my time in them. I decided to try to seek more experienced advice on them here before tossing. Not looking to sell them here. As I said I already have an offer for $20 but would that be a fair offer on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've certainly sold larger lots of similar material on ebay for a lot less, but perhaps a US specialist will chime in.

I've seen listings like that on ebay that start at $5 and maybe it won't sell, or maybe it'll get $10. I see a few stamps there worth a few dollars each, nothing astronomical, especially in mixed condition. Depending on which watermarks and perforations on those stamps, maybe there's $50 catalog value there, or maybe a lot less, so if both the buyer and seller will be happy with the deal at $20 then go for it.

I see that there are more pages in the stack besides the two pictured, are they also included in the $20 offer?

Under what circumstances did you meet this person who made you this offer? Someone you know? Someone you met on Craig's List? Honestly $20 seems like a lot for that small group of stamps, sight unseen. If you don't know who this person is, be alert, and take a friend with you when you make the deal. If anything seems fishy, walk away.

That just be the "price of admission" and their real question and motive will will be "And what else do you have?"

As you are finding out, I takes a lot to sort out a stamp accumulation and a lot of it was produced in huge quantities thus having modest sale value. I agree with the idea that a visit to a local stamp club could gain you more knowledge in one visit than trying to come up to speed yourself.
