I was wondering if someone in the stamp community could help me identify/value this Lyndon B. Johnson first day cover. I've tried Mystic Stamp, HipStamp, Stamp World, Google images, Google shopping, ebay, plus several others, and I have not been able to find this particular cover. Thanks!

I would think about $1 like the other covers similar to it.

I'm not sure I know what you mean by "identify;" to the best of my knowledge there isn't a universal catalog for FDC's. Some private, thematic ones are available though the American First Day Cover Society for things like cats, moon landings, and Elvis, though.

According the the Scott 2009 First Day Cover Catalogue & Checklist by Michael A. Mellone (the last year that they produced the catalogue), Scott 1249, Register & Vote stamp (533,439 total FDCs) with a single stamp is valued at $1.00. Doubtful that LBJ appearing on the cover would (significantly) increase the value. It's a fairly common FDC. Hope this helps.

Scott

Probably part of LBJ's political campaign. Maybe the LBJ Library in TX might have information about the cachet. After reading 3 of Robert Caro's books about him, I was thinking of driving down to TX to visit his library---and maybe catching the solar eclipse along the way. But traffic might be a problem.

That cover is similar to other FDC's with presidents on them, usually with new issues that came out on anniversaires of events. I used to receive them when you purchased x amount of value from companies like The Kenmore Stamp Company back in the 1960's.

The Scott Specialised catalogue has a section for FDCs.
The 2018 has a CV of 1.25 for the register and vote 5c stamp.
