I would really love to do something like that but I don't yet know where I'm going with my collection ... The hard part about being a newbie is that, because I don't have much information about my stamps or their history yet, I wouldn't even know where to start with a layout...
Welcome to the "dark side" of making your own album pages!

As a newbie, don't be intimidated by the task. I mentioned to you in another thread that there are some jaw-dropping pages here that make mine look pretty vanilla! Remember, if you choose to make your own pages, it is your collection and you can say as much or as little as you want about a stamp and you can arrange them however you find pleasing. There aren't any stamp police.
I've been collecting for a long time and accepted the fact that I'm never going to know everything about my stamps. I am always finding new information, different approaches to collecting, and subtleties that I didn't know existed before. For me, that's part of what making collecting stamps interesting and so much fun!
Take some time and learn about your collection. At some point you will say, "OK, that's what I want to say about my stamps."
Personally, my goal is for a non-collector or someone who doesn't specialize in my kind of stamps to flip through my albums and get an inkling of why I was crazy enough to spend time doing this! That may not be what you want to accomplish. Again, it is up to you!
You don't have to take a cookie-cutter approach either. You are highlighting your collection, not making a mass production product. Sure, paper, font, font size and the other basics should be consistent but you can be creative with the layout. Sometimes you might want to highlight paper type, gum, perforation, color variations or some other aspect of your stamps. Experiment!
Whatever you choose to do, have fun and remember it's a hobby.
Dan
