Good day, everyone,

Can anyone help me with information about the mysterious stamp #691? There's no information about it in the catalog, and Google doesn't provide any results either (only Canada #691).

Does anyone know anything about it?

Thanks in advance!

There is no US Scott 691, it's an unassigned catalog number. I've never come across a definitive (no pun intended) story about it, whether it was a result of Scott jumping the gun on an expected issue that never materialized, or just an editorial mistake discovered too late, or something else.
