I've looked everywhere in my Scott, but come up empty.

This page was included in a Croatian collection I bought a while back, but no notes or identifiers. I've tried Google, and my stamp identifying phone app and nothing.

Anyone with any clues?

Zeurich4 - Thank you for the wonderful information. I guess I was looking in the wrong way. I assumed they were legitimate overprints, being an area I am totally unfamiliar with.

If these are considered private issues, then I will assume they are not catalogued any where?

Are there any sources that state which ones were overprinted, or if these are considered complete sets? I will be making pages for them, but would really love to find out how many spaces to include.

As far as I know, they were only produced to fill someone's wallet. They exist from all regions of the former Yugoslavia, scattered all over the Balkans. Not only the Croatian 'side', but also the Bosnian and Serbian sides. Since strong nationalism is common in this region before and after the 'Yugoslav wars' and unfortunately still is, the manufacturer probably wanted to 'please' all sides equally and take the money out of everyone's pocket as much as possible, regardless of which side they are/were on. And of course from all those who were not so familiar with the events on the ground and thought that these were overprints of national liberation armies...

Best regards from Switzerland
André

I once was on a flight to Dubrovnik that was diverted to Split due to strong winds. From there, we were brought to Dubrovnik on busses. The ride took over 4 hours and passed through Bosnia and Hercegovina, driving in the middle of the road. But Croatia is too far from the Atlantic Ocean to experience named storms.
