Two fragments of cancels...can anyone tell me where these were canceled? At left, I can make out "....RAIN TRAIGHLI". At right, I think it begins "LAOISE" and ends "....G AN CHURRAIGH". Can anyone figure out the Gaelic and English placenames?
So am I. I cannot find any townland in Tralee that fits. However, Tráighli might be part of a street name, although I doubt there is sufficient space left for a town name at the bottom. That would leave a place in Tralee itself.
Tráighli appears to be a very rare use. Normally, it is written Tráigh Li. It would not be the first time this happens with Irish cancellations. Rod222 once posted an example.
