Not the highest cataloging thing I would find kicking around my stamp room, but probably my favorite. United States 92L1, the Kellogg's Penny Post and City Despatch local stamp of Cleveland, Ohio. Six reported covers (this one is ex-Knapp, Middendorf, and T.F. Allen).

There were originally 3 on the cover. It seems that the sender believed that applying 3 of the stamps would pay for US postage, which was not the case. 1 stamp paid for carriage "to the post office" and it went unpaid from there, 5 cents due to the recipient.

This is my Scott 218:

I have always liked this issue, and I owned this jumbo stamp until I sold my US material two or three years ago. The margins are massive for this issue and the color is gorgeous. Love these classic stamps and I hope the new owner is enjoying it.

When I can find them, I collect US Classics showing plate markings. This is one of my favorites. It shows the sheet margin arrow in addition to a portion of the right pane stamp. Also, the cancel helps the grill stand out a bit.

Not sure if it's the best, but it's one I spent some time with, after asking here.

Cs,
Depends who you ask, it's not certified yet.
I'd tell you it's a transitional die.
