Are There Two Cancels On This 1914 Postcard?

It looks like this was cancelled with a pen then a very large Christmas cancel? why?

Yes, one is a manuscript the other is a poorly applied hand stamp. My guess is this was mailed on a rural route.

Thanks Parcelpost guy. I thought it might be the carrier picking it up.The top line of the cancel looks like stars, an angel and snowflakes???

Given the message, it would not be unheard of for a seasonal cancel being used.

Scribble on stamp is indicative of rural route carriers "protecting revenue" by absently canceling with their (often a) pencil, stamps that appear uncanceled. I'm sure they were accustomed to seeing round-date postmarks with killer lines at right on the stamp like the rest of us... an instinctive reaction evident here. Perhaps the indentations embossed into the postcard made a lightly inked hand-cancel ending with "OWA" even that much less to leave ink on the card.
