Hello-

Does anyone know anything about early Azores stamps?

Wondering if anyone can tell me what is on these stamps? I can read a two and a six on one of them but don't know what that means. Is it the day of the month the stamp may have been canceled? Tried to do research but had no luck. Thanks.

These stamps are from 1898 Vasco Da Gama common design series. Similar stamps were issued for all Portuguese colonies at that time. Yours are Scott numbers 97 and 99. Somebody may have an Anfinsa Catalogue to tell you more. They have catalog value of $10 and $14 US, but in your condition the are not worth much at all. Can't tell much about the ink markings on the stamps or the cancels.
