I've seen differing opinions online as to whether this stamp is rare or of any value. Grateful for views please from someone who knows more than me. Thanks

Ok - thanks. Is there an easy way to tell why this is so?

All of the broken lines including the oval and the inner frame lines are a sure sign.

Genuine:

Saints1975;
Your stamp looks like a later reprint from the original cliché.
These were reprinted by Moens,Usigli and some others.Small modifiications exist from the original cliché.
The diffderence between the reprint and forgery is that the reprint is from the original cliché.These stamps have a particular history and are not as simple as may appear.
Broken lines in the frame and oval do exist in some of the original clichés.
So your stamp is a later reprint (unofficial).
A classic book on the subject is "Roman States Essays and Reprints" by the Reverend Floyd A. Jenkins.
