Here is a link to Robin Harris site adminware.ca having a tagging database of Canadian stamps amongst other things. Your variety is not shown, but it does almost have the look of a fishhook on it like another issue.
Given the number of different printings this stamp had (used for multiple years), the tagging varies from very clean / sharp vertical bars, to messy ones like you show. The latter probably due to a worn tagging roller (fabric??) or more fluid ink than normal that tended to splatter. The block does not have the tagging flaw listed in the Unitrade catalogue.
