Need help to identify this US 53 cent personal computer stamp? I think it was issued in 2022. If you are able to identify it, please provide the Scott Catalog number. Any assistance would be appreciated.....

Affirming and expanding upon eyeonwall's post: This is not a USPS-issued stamp. It is valid as USPS postage.

For the purpose of calculating postage rates, USPS does classify these as metered mail. Thus, the current first-class one-ounce rate is 68˘ instead of the 73˘ if using traditional postage stamps.

Scott catalogs do list these with a prefix of "1CVP". Actually, last I checked that was the prefix. I have not looked up these computer-generated stamps in recent catalogs.

I suggest browsing a "Scott U.S. Specialized" catalog. These catalogs are available at some public libraries.

These usps approved stamps.com issues are listed in the standard Scott catalog back of the book but my catalog is not new enough to show this denomination. It is similar to the design CVPA78. The Scott number for the 44c variety is 1cvp120 to 23. A newer catalog should show your denomination. There is also information regarding the stamps.com issues.

The denomination does not matter. Customers could print these at home in any denomination up to $999.99. The catalog lists the 44c as that was the first class rate at the time, but your 53c would have the same catalog number. Here is an example on cover with a denomination of 50c-

Edit: typo.

Where did you find this information? I know it exists with some usps vending machines that they managed but I don't see it mentioned anywhere in Scott for the stamps.com section.
