Hello everyone!

I'm looking for references for color varieties of the #18 1859 decimal issue. I have three #18 and would like to identify the color variations by myself. Does anyone have something to propose to me?

Thanks in advance, CS

These are not mine, this is from the Thomas Meyerhof Collection sold by Sparks auctions in April 2023.

Typical disclaimers about identifying colors from a scan on a computer monitor, fwiw.

Keep in mind that many collectors work according to the principle "if I have three stamps that look slightly differently, they must be the three shades." Many, however, have three examples that fall in the same "shade" band. This, especially, will be an issue when any of the "shades" has a high catalogue value.

By the way, to help those who find your post through the last 100 active topics and for future searches, it would be helpful to edit the title so it reads 'for Canada #18.'

Looking at the collection part of Thomas Meyerhof and telling you my thoughts about the color variations of mine. Though with a computer screen it's really hard, I would like you tell me if the variations look like that in the scan pictures I show you. Would be curious to read your guesses.

This one looks like olive green.

This one looks like myrtle green.

This one looks like yellow green.
