Scott U312 Double Transfer?

I can't remember why but I was told a stamped envelope can't have a double transfer. If that is correct and then what do you call this double on the right side? The doubling of the letters in postage, cents and the notches all along the right side inner and outer oval. If anyone can explain or tell me where to go to find out how this occurs that would be great! I guess I want to know if this caused by a double transfer created in the die or if during the printing process this occurs. I would think if this occurred during the printing process the white fields would be smaller. I just remembered I had a previous one posted a few years ago and sure enough it is identical to this one! Does that mean its a double transfer?

Yes!!! Thanks Partime. I see john mentioned it might be from a reentry on a die. not quite sure what that means but it looks like the die was punched twice and that side of the die was misaligned when repunched to make or rework the die. Again so I wouldn't think this is a double impression but a double transfer.
