Another oddity: I acquired a small nondescript lot of earlyish Canadian stamps, and it included half of a 3c QV Jubilee ?!? But it is correctly perforated on all edges (see pic). I was thinking that it might have been a perf fault, but it is really very close to the middle of the stamp and it is canceled across the middle perf, so I was wondering if it was possible that it was done intentionally.

Has anyone seen or heard of this before ?

The perforation on the right side is very much different than the other three sides. The perforations are more "perfect" and clean. I vote for someone practicing reperfs.

Someone trying to create something that is not in existance. A used stamp definetly altered by a newer perforating machine or as partime stated- practicing reperforating. It would be interesting to find out which auction house/dealer this came from and the previous owner of the material.

Thanks for the replies. I measured the perfs, and they are slightly different on the right side, so they were definitely done after the fact. It would make sense that someone was practicing re-perfing. Another thing to watch out for with all the fakes being sold out there.
