I am an avid fan of music and music history. My favourite genres are psychedelic rock and progressive rock. Both genres were popular throughout the 60s and 70s. The album art associated with these genres tended to be quite colourful and psychedelic.
I am curious to see some psychedelic designs on stamps, or even anything associated with psychedelia depicted on a stamp. Can anybody please share some with me?

Quote: I like those fake record lines on the janis joplin one, very realistic I agree but none are as realistic as the Bhutan record stamps which are real records. Depending on the denomination you get the national anthem or folk songs. Also the colors are an interesting selection. |

@parcelpostguy That 1974 stamp design is one of my favourites. I only recently acquired one. The bhutan stamps are incredible, I actually learned of them from a record collecting site I use rather than anything stamp related. They are also incredibly pricy. Here is an excellently psychedelic design from Pakistan, commemorating Pakistani television. |

Regarding the Pakistan stamp I had an old color TV that got reception about that good. There have been threads, I can't if here or elsewhere which discussed the pricing difference of the Bhutan records in the record world versus the stamp world. But lately with sites such as ebay, the stamp side has climbed to reflect the record market. My set ran $25-40 when I got it but that was before the record folks found out about them. The on cover usages are high now too but as a percentage, they have not risen as much as the mint copies. The were expensive before. |

Another brilliant American stamp from 1974. If you look at the design of the train on this stamp, it is also quite art deco, resembling the New York Central Mercury streamlined steam locomotive of 1936. |

@lithograving That Austrian one has been on my want list for as long I have been taking philately seriously. I think it looks incredible. I found out about it from a guy on youtube called Exploring Stamps in his "most disturbing stamps" video. |
