This appears to be a #94 grilled - however I am not sure of why the cancellation series - cancelled in Auburn, NY and sent to Albany, NY. What is the Carrier cancellation? I find no city in NY by that name. Extra points if you can make out the name of the person it was sent to...thanks

This was applied by the carrier department in the Albany post office. At this time, only a few hundred of the largest offices had carrier service as the 1863 version of carriers was being expanded. Also, while there is no street address on this cover, Tremain is noteworthy enough that the PO obviously knew where he lived, etc.
