*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***I have not seen any information anywhere about a stamp being issued after 2022.

Quote: Interesting that some politicians in the US want to bring the Cuban system to America. Interesting, I have not heard any politician say that. |

Perhaps if Washington reversed the Boston Assassin's imperial embargo, things in Havana might function rather better. |

Quote: off into politics once again And what? In case you have not noticed philatelic subject matter in general is run through with politics since it is about Nations. Political figures, political events and everything else political is part and parcel of stamps/postal history. The two are inseparable. We should be able to have an adult discussion about it without an issue. So long as nobody goes off the rails dropping the F-bomb it is engaging. Or do you want to discuss perforations and types of paper ad nauseum. The OP asked about the dearth of Cuban stamps lately. I posted a link explaining possible "why's" for that. There ARE candidates for Office right now in the US selling the thing that creates the problems that Cuba has. Tell me in detail why that is a sin here. If a mod wants to censor me than fine. This is not my sandbox. But unless you want to contribute don't do a drive by with the usual under ten-word comment and disappear. I never see you answer questions for anyone seeking help here. You only lob a tiny bomb and hide. |

Quote: off into politics once again Agreed that this conversation is quickly veering off course from the original question of whether Cuba is still issuing stamps. The first link was very informative and helpful. Some of the further comments not so much. In any case, let's try to keep further comments related to the topic. |

Rodgcam's link was very informative. And I really appreciate it.
His comment about U.S. politics added little of value. The first response provided concrete details about conditions in Cuban post offices, while the later remark amounted to nothing more than a vague swipe at politicians. If Rodgcam had been equally vague about Cuba, his answer might have been something like: "Some Caribbean island nations don't support their post offices enough." |

I found the link about Cuban stamps very interesting. Does anyone still print album pages for Cuban stamps? My Scott Internationals (pre 1978) don't have any recent Cuban pages after 1960. Some other countries are not well represented either. And the gap of coverage between volumes is irritating as well. |

Thanks for the interesting information. This is much stranger than I thought. There is now a trend of many countries that used to issue lots of stamps on various subjects for commercial purposes, and now they hardly issue any. But I really didn't think the story in Cuba was so extreme. |

None of the online catalogues lists any stamps after 2022. The online shop of Cuba's postal services does not load.
The coincidence of the apparent end to Cuba's stamp-issuing programme and the beginning of Russia's "peace" mission in its neighbouring countries may not be accidental. Cuba remained heavily dependent on support and supplies from certain countries that may need those resources for their "peaceful" activities and suffer from the hostile actions by democratic countries.
(Yes, some sarcasm there.) |

Alas, irony is beyond some. Anyone who thinks that a thread about Cuba and it's stamps would not be political has not paid attention to the whole idea of stamps, as has been stated above. Stamps have never been issued "just to move the mail". |
