Bicycle race and emblem, designed by A. Zavaialov, printed by lithography, and issued by Russia (USSR) on August 5, 1965 as one of a set of three stamps publicizing the 8th Trade Union Spartacist Games, Scott No. 3076, Zagorski No. 3152.

Dove, bicycle wheel, and the coats of arms of Warsaw, Berlin and Prague, designed by Czech graphic artist Jaroslav Fišer (1919-2003), combined engraved by Jan Mrácek and photogravure, and issued by Czechoslovakia on April 17, 1967 to publicize the 20th Peace Race, Scott No. 1468.

Bicyclists, designed by Czech artist Vladimir Kovárík, combined engraved by Jirí Antonín Švengsbír and photogravure, and issued by Czechoslovakia on January 15, 1965 to publicize the Indoor Cycling World Championships, held in Prague, Scott No. 1280.

Hello KlausR, nice bicycle stamps.

I wonder if you could provide a larger scan or the bottom one on the right side, the long, tall on with the spearman standing waving. What country is that from please?

Thank you. That stamp is so cool, with the tribeman in the foreground and the postman and then the newer technology of the radio telescope on the hill in the background. I will have to look into Sri Lanka stamps now! Ha.

Here is an image of an airmail stamp depicting a young man riding a dandy horse, 1818, and a modern bicycle racer, 1968, designed by André Peyrie, engraved by André Frčres, and issued by Niger on May 17, 1968 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the bicycle, Scott No. C88, plus a photo of a draisine (dandy horse), c 1820.

Here are images of the three semi-postal (charity) stamps in a set depicting (respectively): an early bicycle, a bicycle race, and a race winner, printed by photogravure, and issued for use in Spanish Guinea on November 23, 1959 for Stamp Day, Scott Nos. B55-57.

Here is an image of an engraved stamp depicting a tricycle rickshaw, designed by "Panh" (? Laotian artist Thit Panh, 1916- ) and issued by Laos on July 31, 1974 as one of three stamps in a transportation set, Scott No. 250.
