The father and son team of Pierre and Ernest Michaux are credited by some historians for being the true inventors of the modern bicycle. It was at their carriage company in Paris in 1867 that they first assembled a two-wheeled vélocipède. I started off collecting US classic, but I've been looking for a way to dip my toe into something worldwide. I'm a cyclist and I think that cycling/bicycles may be just the ticket. Lots of beautiful stamps on this thread. Thank you all for the inspiration! |

In earlier days, postmen are commonly equipped with a bicycle to do their job. The 2008 Singapore stamp shows a postman with his delivery bicycle. Scott 1344.  |
