A great collection all! Some of those Egyptian ones look like they are made of payrus. Probably because they are. |

The Egyptian covers are pseudo-papyrus.
I worked on human burial excavations at the Secaucus, New Jersey potter's field back in 2003. I probably found some teeth made from that company above. It was pretty disturbing to find a skeleton that was almost nothing, but still had a gleaming white set of choppers. Will |

This is my earliest airmail cover, Canal Zone 105. It's an FDC. I have very few of these, but I find them attractive. Here is a US Air Mail FDC, C21. I guess the assumption on this envelope was that no lozenges were needed in the corner, as the stamp would simply be pasted over them. My C24 FDC, though does not have any lozenges, perhaps because it was never intended to take a transatlantic journey. |

Smauggie, good guess though I think you will find that cover is a "privately printed" airmail lozenge. You have an interesting item therefore. The New Zealand Aerogramme must have had contents due to the extra 8d stamp attached. |

A few U.S. Air Mail covers with interesting borders: I particularly like the third one. It would make a great wallpaper border in a child's room too (or cover cave). Will |

Typical Bermuda slogan, Smauggie. The Island of rest. Two more cut pieces. NZ with typical Maori flavour, and an Australian from the mail centre, so the livery is zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz |
