just searched through over 250 of them from an old estate sale find I got many years ago

what is going on with this odd perf size; I cannot find it anywhere

I read about private perfs and errors, but this one makes no sense to me since is not a coil or vending machine issue

it is a Scott 581 1 cent yellow green

It is on a postcard with a Nov 1924 cancel date from Buda IL

HELP!

581 is not a coil issue. The perf 10 specification given is a rough estimate. I think you have just a 581.

Jr. Rat

thank you for your reply

I'm new to this site so whenever I get the pix to attach, you will see 2 different perf guages showing NO MATCH to a 10 perf.

It's as clear as day it's not even close to a 10 and matches up with the 9.5

Maybe being on a postcard, it shrunk over 100 years: totally bizarre; I'm just glad I found a non 10 perf size and I checked them all; it's pure luck that this one stood out

maybe the pins or wheels that create the perfs went off center for a short time one hundred years back

Not your stamp at all, but I did find a "Buda, ILL" cancel in my collection. It's on a cover with Scott 114. Little value, and horrible condition, but part of my collection:
