Quote: stamps off paper could shrink due to handling, but stamps on paper can only shrink a very, very small fraction. Am I wrong? Paper can be shrunk. nor must the entire piece be treated. The following has been presented elsewhere in SCF. https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac...emed.8b00951Quote: Shrinking paper money is a captivating and memorable demonstration of chemistry in action that can be carried out using minimal equipment and reagents. Paper bills can be shrunk down to #8764;25% of their initial surface area by treating them with an aqueous solution of sodium periodate. The cellulose in the paper bill is oxidized to dialdehyde cellulose via the Malaprade reaction, and the resulting change in size of the paper money provides macroscopic evidence of the reaction. The chemical change that occurs in the cellulose can be confirmed by a Tollen's test. But the bottom line is the OP remains unmoved by his unicorn find, even when the horn fell off. |

Quote: JLLebbert answered your question on page 2 of this thread: What the OP needs to do is explain how the other 249 stamps Are the rare variety which doesn't match his common unicorn. Them all be Pegasuses? |

Quote: you will see some good pix once I figure out how to shrink them Very easy to shrink down to the 300Mb requirements. Just follow the links given to you on the first page of this topic. Quote: all 3 different gauges will be shown using a 9.5 perf match to the stamp As long as you line it up correctly, and the gauge is a good one, we should be able to give you an opinion. Note that if it is the same stamp as you showed earlier, we already proved that the top, left and right perforations all match to about 9.75 (rounded up to 10) ... nowhere close to 9.5 |

Please, also provide a picture of the stamp lined up with one of the other almost 250 examples that are not 9½. |
