My library used to get the catalog with last year's issues starting in July. This year & maybe last year they are 2 years behind. In other words instead of getting the current 2026 catalog with 2024 issues they're just now getting 2025 with 2024 issues. Is something going on? The reference librarian didn't have a clue what I was talking about.

I haven't seen them in any library in my area for at least 10 years. I'd be glad to see them every decade or so.

There were publishing delays; I'm not sure how long or which volumes were affected, but I know the schedules for last year and possibly this year are a bit off.

Our main county library does not have them. They do not even have a reference section.

Since nothing of note ever changes annually there really is no need for a resource limited institution to spend substantial money for new editions. Plus, if they are modernized they can see what the usage rates are for the volumes. Count yourself lucky if they still have them.
