Hi All

Can anyone in our forum give me a brief description of the Han's numbers found on the selvedges of early German stamps?

Thanks a lot

While you can still edit the title, please correct the spelling in your title.

Eraly should be Early

Are you asking about Hausauftragsnummer (HAN) ?

If so there is a German site which explains all the sheet selvedge markings but
it is only for German post WWII stamps. DDR, WEST GERMANY, Berlin and SAARLAND

https://nugman.info/bogenwiki/index...n#Formnummer

Here is a part regarding HAN numbers translated into English.

Thank you for that litho. I do appreciate this.

I had an idea about them but was not sure. I am surprised they are still used the same way on more modern stamps too.
