Bombings, demolitions, destruction to anything, intentional or accidental, depicted on a stamp. Example: Isola Delle Rose (Aka. Republic of Rose Island) was an attempted micronation on a man made island off the east coast of Italy constructed in 1967 by Giorgio Rosa. In 1969, it was invaded, and then occupied by the Italian military, as the Italian government viewed Rosa's nation as nothing more than an attempt to avoid taxation. The military then blew up the island, which actually had its own post office and postal service. After the destruction of the island, Rosa issued three stamps showing the explosion. The stamps are in Esperanto, which was the language of Rose Island, along with a face value in Rose Island Mills, which was a planned currency for the island that never had the chance to be minted. If I got a cent for every time armed men invaded a man made island, occupied it, and then blew it up, I'd have at least two cents. And if we exclude the blowing up part, that's 4 cents that I know of. I find it crazy how often this seemed to happen in the 20th century.

Fireworks tend not be used for demolition or destruction, and they have their own thread. |

They also have a stamp where a helicopter is being shot down, but I can't find the image on line and only have seen it in an extensive Iran collection. |

I had planned to post it. It is certainly a good thing that no stamp celebrating the killing of about 200k to 400k (source dependent) was issued for postal use by the USA. |

@parcelpostguy Incredible stamp design. I love those kinds of stamps from places like Iran, North Korea, Libya and Vietnam. There was also one issued to commemorate the bombing of the USA embassy in Lebanon with the text "The destruction of the American spy headquarters in Beirut", which was issued by Iran in about 1983. |

Sadly, even with the state tax stamps thrown in, I have a meager selection to add, and as Ellie88 pointed out, these probably should be posted elsewhere, but they are all I got on the tax side. CA and WA used almost identical designs, only differing with the "STATE of X". Note the joint markings on the right item in the third scan. Markings for both CA and WA on one item. Although initially listed in the SRS State Revenue Catalog, they are now believed to be a marking confirming registration with the state, rather than an indication of a tax being paid. |

Fire to buildings and other things counts as destruction, I was going to post a stamp depicting a building that had been deliberately set on fire to explain that, but I cannot find a good image of it. Unfortunately, your image has shrunken to illegibility. The rest are fine, and I love the Vietnam ones. I have a Czechoslovakian one that might be worth showing here too. |

Who would have thought there were this many stamps with this topic? |

Freedom and Peace for Vietnam, Czechoslovakia, 1967. A burning village can be seen and there appears to be a design indicating an explosion. |

300 year anniversary of the siege of Athlone. The stamp depicts Athlone castle after it was set on fire by the Williamite forces. I have personally been there and on the bridge, which was what lead to the siege, as the bridge was considered strategically important in the Williamite's war against the Jacobites. Somewhat off topic, but there is now a restaurant in Athlone called Jaco-bites, which mildly amused me. |
