Has any of you seen the "bold font" on the back of the 3x 3$ Monrteal Canadiens lenticular stamps? The black seems to be doubled on one of mine.

On the next pic I've cut and pasted the 2 side by side so it's easyer to see.

I've got four of them and it only occurs on one

Now that I look at it more closely, everything is "doubled" or in "Bold". The black, blue and red text (bar code and players picture also)

I don't have these.
Is it all over tagged like the US stamps? If so, perhaps this doubling is 'ghost tagging' as mentioned in another recent thread?

A guess.

Were they all printed at the same place and time also?

Actually those stamps aren't tagged. As for the place and time of the printing, I don't know.

These Montreal Canadiens lenticular stamps were printed in New Zealand(!), and issued Oct 9, 2009. I check mine and there is no signs of doubling of the print on the back.

Minesweeper, I just checked my three copies of this sheet and all use a normal, unbolded font.

Maybe should send to the adminware site that focuses on newer CAN varieties. Although I admit Lafleur, Dryden and many other Montreal players are true legends it was always a family battle and I was on the Leafs side. Have yet to bow down and buy these.

I checked a few of these souvenir sheets.

I have one that you would call "bold", but I would suggest that it is more of a "blur" (perhaps a bit more ink?), but I would not describe it as "bold" (that implies the font is bold, which it is not).

A couple of others are in between the crisp, clean text and the fuzzy, blurred text.

In this tpe of printing it is very rare to end up with a double impression per se but when I used to run a webb press if I kicked up the speed and tension was to tight on paper it would cause a blur of sorts. Very fine line between perfection and not in the process. To much tension and the paper would snap and sound like a car crash. With this many showing up it should likely be noted .

The above are scans of single words from the back of the subject souvenir sheet (I did my best). Black micro specks within each letters appear shifted. I suspect this is the reason for a bold appearance on some copies.

It looks like maybe 2 colors to make up the lettering which would just be mis registration, if its single its a slip since its all in one direction but not sure if that is possible on todays equipment. Only other explanation is doubling. Is there any signs of issues on any other part of the sheet. Now I want one of each . Another Canada Post trick that took awhile to come to light.
