A set of Fourth Bureau Issue die proofs identified as being "mounted on very thin card" appeared in a Siegel Auction, Sale 389, February 9, 1971, that featured the Rudolph Wunderlich collection of essays and proofs. They were unsigned and without control numbers since their size was given as 3 x 3.5 inches (76 x 89 mm), about the size of a die sinkage.

I have searched for considerable time but have found no clues related to their existence. Is anyone aware of the set or possible individual dies of the set?

I am compiling data on Fourth Bureau Issue proofs and would like to bring my data up to date for the Wunderlich proofs.

Many of the proofs still exist, although some of their proof cards are trimmed down from the normal 6 in. x 8 in. format. This frequently removed the control number on the reverse of the card.
