Hey Folks,

I'm going through the stamps my Dad left me, and he had this in an album as Cape of Good Hope Scott number 4. I have spent some time researching whether the stamp is legitimate, and I have my doubts. The biggest red flag to me is the cancellation, which looks like an Erasmo Oneglia fake cancel.

Any opinions?

Looks to me that the 'C' of your stamp doesn't resemble that of the first-described Oneglia instance (which is thinner).

Hmm. Thanks for the links to those sites. Looking at my stamp, I think it is legit. The cancel still throws me off, though.

Thanks for the help!

It looks like a typical genuine example form the white paper issues, though with no margins. That cancel is also typical, a CoGH in triangle:

I've been working on my CoGH collection the last couple of weeks, trying to put together a one frame of the triangles. That means it's all fairly fresh in my mind right now. :)
