If it doesn't say "Nippon" or "Republic of China" or have the Korean yin-yang symbol I don't know how to tell what it is. It seems that 4, 5,6, 8 and 9 are from the same country, whichever country that might be. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Scott catalog numbers:

1. China[PRC] (East China after PRC listings) #5L86
-- top two characters at right denote East China

2. China #887/895a/895b (you need to check mark and perf)
-- top right 4 characters denote Republic of China

3. China[PRC] (East China) #5L77

All the rest are Japan (see top left 2 characters in stamp #4)
4. #673
5. #765
6. #647
7. #260
8. #718(?) check #712-723, because color on my laptop not accurate
9. #691

Number 1 and 3 are Peoples Republic of China, East China Liberation Area, SL86 and SL77 respectively

Yes, except the prefix is "5L" not "SL".
