Found this in an old glassine envelope of foreign stamps. As I don't generally collect Great Britain and my catalogs of that country are out-of-date, could anyone help identify if its catalog number is correct and/or if it still has value in this condition?

I realize it's not a good copy and is somewhat faded. I am also aware that the catalog I have for this stamp (circa 1980's) was prefaced by a note that faded copies sell far below catalog, so I'm asking to determine how I should classify it.

Thanks for looking.

107 is the correct Scott number. It is true that this is pretty faded, but not as bad as I've seen. Some perf issues, too, to be honest.

GB sells (around here) for a pretty steep discount off CV. I think this one would take an even bigger hit.

Still respectable enough to fill a space.

[edit...obviously, this is only my 2d.]

The current Gibbons rates this at £250, but includes the warning 'The above prices are for stamps in the true dull green colour. Stamps which have been soaked, causing the colour to run, are virtually worthless.'

Thanks tonymacg for the catalog comments on this stamp.

As mentioned earlier, I think it will be a good space filler until a better example becomes available.

I know that just because a stamp has a high catalog value means nothing if its condition is not favorable. But on the higher catalog valued items, I'd rather ask.

For the record, all my foreign stamps are gifts from people who know I collect them, so I appreciate anything they provide and take it as a gift, no matter what the value.
