A few days ago someone on SCF was kind enough to give me a current catalog value of some foreign stamps, as my catalogs are some 25+ years old (although I still can use them to determine what are common vs. better pieces.)

Relatively speaking, the blocks below appear to be "better" stamps, although I suspect there is limited interest in stamps from Swaziland.

Anyway, I was wondering if someone would be willing to look up the current value for me. I know I could go to the library and pull out a Scott WW Catalog, but theirs are typically not up-to-date either.

Thanks.

I'd be happy to help. But what is the country of origin - before the overstamp?

My SG catalogue is 300 kilometres from me at the moment, but my Scott 2008 puts $12.50 each on the 1/- (Sc5) and $8.50 each on the ½d (Sc9).

I can't see from the scan, hut if there's a period (full stop) after the overprint, they're reprints, and counterfeits exist.

If genuine, I'm sure there would be a premium for the blocks of four. These are overprints on South Africa (Z Afr Republiek)

Thanks for all help provided on this. For the record, neither block has a period after the overprint.

I knew they weren't worth a fortune, but certainly more valuable than your run of the mill album filler stamps.

And very collectable to a British Empire collector! I only collect the KGV period, 1910-1936, but I love blocks of four.

In scott 2007 Swaziland #5 $12.50 and #9 $8.50. That's for a single stamp. It has a mention for 1889 and 1892 stamps: "Beware of counterfeits"

They're overprinted on stamps of Transvaal.

The 1 shilling green is SG 3, catalogue value £14, each and the ½d grey is SG 10, catalogue value £7.50 each, both in the 2010 Gibbons Part 1.
