I'm not seeing this one in my book?

the image looks like Turkey, paras are Turkish right?

I don't know what "poste locale" is I assume locale (in-country postage?) but why in English then, was Turkey owned by someone at some point that made stamps for them?

I'm missing something simple...

Thanks Cjd for sight on turkish local stamps. Liannos post 2010. great to put an event in history to a stamp.

There appears to be an image (of at least the oblong stamps) in the Yvert World Catalogue. (Not seen it myself)

Isfila also. Both the perforated & imperforated versions, as on Rod's page.

Unused are low value; used very high value. Most cancellations are faked; used stamps really need a cert...
