Hi,
more questions about my collection. I have been listing my sheets on wensy.com on both the U.S. Sheets sections and on the U.S. 1990-1999 sections and noone has even viewed them. Am I listing my stamps corretly or is wensy just not very well known? I start my listings at 80% of face value, I would think that people that just need stamps could get a bargain at those prices, any comments or critiques would be appreciated

matthewg1901. I am still posting my collection. if you havent seen my earlier posts, I have 4-8 sheets of mosts U.S. stamps issued from 1995-2008 that I am trying to get rid of as quickly as possible while still getting a reasonable amount for the collection. I have a posting in the classified section that lists every sheet of stamps I have with the number of sheets, price per sheet and total face value. |

Hope you don't mind...here is a link to one: http://wensy.com/detail.asp?id=8059803I can think of a few things right off the bat. Four sheets at once might be too many, unless the person is only buying for discount postage. Including the face value in your item title (e.g., "$20.60 face") would help instantly assess what is on offer. Buy it now might get people to click and buy. $7 is more than I would pay for shipping without an explanation of why. Hope this is useful. Bidstart is fine, but Wensy is fine, too. I've bought lots of lots on both. |

also I tried to use the bulk upload feature on wensy, but I think my file size is to big. it was a real pain in the butt to manipulate my excel file to the csv database format. took me nearly an entire day. When I tried to upload the file it didnt do anything. it worked fine without the images in the zip file, but then it gave me an error saying that you have to have an image with each listing. |

i did include the face value on that posting. did you mean to include it in the title? I guess I was still thinking in terms of ebay on the listing four at a time and the extra two dollars for shipping, which I dont feel bad about because ebay drains almost any chance you have of making money off of something. Thanks for the advice I will definately make changes to shipping and number of sheets listed at a time. |

Matthew1901I did preview your listings And tend to agree with Colin Quote: Four sheets at once might be too many Quote: Including the face value in your item title (e.g., "$20.60 face") would help instantly assess what is on offer. Quote:

i have shipped the items I have sold using USPS flat rate large envelopes which cost ~5.00 dollars, is that a reasonable price for shipping? The reason I was listing 4 at a time was to offset that charge on shipping with the savings off of face value for the stamps.

i didnt mean for their to be links on the classified link, well I did but wensy bulk upload doesnt work very well IMO. I've been organizing and scanning and researching and listing these stamps since June and I have to admit i'm getting sloppy on my listings out of frustration. thanks you all for your help with this. |

I think many of these are small enough to fit in a large manila envelope with a thin cardboard stiffener, which would probably go for $1.22 or so under the large envelope rate. A little bit extra for the envelope itself probably wouldn't be resented by most buyers. To me, $5 still seems high, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that I'm out of touch. |

Quote: I start my listings at 80% of face value, I would think that people that just need stamps could get a bargain at those prices, any comments or critiques would be appreciated However, your large lot listing title says 1.1x-2x face value. Normally, it is the other way around. You can often sell individual panes for above face, but large lots go at a discount. I'm a little confused to see that you would sell a large lot at 1.1x-2x face while selling individual or group panes at below face. Just my thoughts. |

o the whole 1.1 to 2x face value posting I did a while back. I was really just trying to get my list posted. I was hoping to get at least face value since thats what they sell for at the post office, but im not getting any hits. I think I've only had one offer on the individua postings and it was for below my lowest bid. I didnt think it would be difficult to sell stamps that cant lose value. Maybe I can sell them to business at a discount. |
