Thought some might find this #300 precancel interesting:

I found it interesting for the following reasons:
1. It's a relatively old issue (Scott #300) for a precancel.
2. The precancel overprint still has a very shiny ink appearance about it, probably because of the type of ink used on the precancel.
3. I find it unusual that the precancel reads vertical rather than horizontal (but maybe it was intentional because of the length of the town name?)
3. I uncovered it in an envelope of common Connecticut precancels, so it was just by accident that I came upon this item.
4. I did not recognize the town, so when I looked it up I found that the post office in that town ceased to exist in 1954, meaning that it is collectible as one of those examples from a "dead post office".
5. Finally, according to the info. I have it has to be either an LT-1 or LT-2. Can someone confirm which type this is?
